Recreation Facilities
Westonia boasts a comprehensive range of sporting facilities and has numerous recreational areas including picnic spots, parks and gardens.
Recreation Complex And Oval
Located near the centre of town the Westonia Recreation Complex includes a function hall with kitchen facilities and a grassed oval and artificial cricket pitch is located adjacent. The Recreation Complex can be hired for events where alcoholic beverages aren't consumed for $66, or for $110 for events where alcoholic beverages will be consumed.
Playground & Skate Park
Recently upgraded, the children’s playground is a pleasant place to stop and let the kids have a run around. The playground features a range of play equipment under coloured shade sails, a small skate park, a cold water fountain and well serviced public conveniences. The playground and skate park is located on the corner of Diorite and Cement Streets in Westonia.
Wanderers Stadium
The Wanderers Stadium is a unique design first for a Wheatbelt town. The Wanderers Stadium is nestled amongst the Diorite Street Sporting Precinct, the delightful Westonia Memorial Swimming Pool, Tennis Courts and Bowling Green which creates an ideal setting for any occasion. You will be impressed by its unique and tranquil environment. The building consists of a function area with bar, kitchen facilities, and an alfresco dinning area. A multi purpose Stadium serves as club rooms for the Westonia Tennis Club and the Westonia Bowling Club. The Wanderers Stadium can be hired for $88.00 if it isn't being used by the Westonia Tennis or Westonia Bowling Clubs.
Tennis Courts
The Westonia Tennis Club has 4 supergrass tennis courts with quality lights for evening games. Tennis season generally runs from October to March, with social and competition tennis normally played on Friday evenings or Sunday afternoons. The courts can be used free of charge when competition or social tennis is not being played, with a spare net kept in the box on the adjacent deck. The tennis courts are located in Diorite Street near the playground and swimming pool.
Golf Course
The Westonia Golf Course is a short 5 minute drive east of the town on Della Bosca Road. The course has 18 holes with sand greens. Members of the public are welcome to play. Green fees are $5.00. Golf season is April to October.
Public Halls
The Shire of Westonia has two historic halls available for hire in Warralakin and Westonia. The historic Old Miner's Hall in Westonia is equipped with a commercial fridge, as well as a kitchen area including a sink and hot water urn at the rear of the building. Toilets are located behind the building. The Old Miners Hall in Westonia can be hired for $88.00.
Airstrip
Westonia has an unsealed airstrip located near to town which is regularly used by the visiting Royal Flying Doctor Service and is available for public use. For information about the airstrip contact the Shire Office on (08) 9046 7063.
