Adventure Elachbutting Elachbutting Rock is a massive granite outcrop, a very popular camping spot for 4x4 wheel clubs and for locals. It has a spectacular colourful wave similar to Hyden’s Wave Rock with the added beauty of ‘Monty’s Pass’, a 30m tunnel caused by a rock slide. An echoing cave similar to an amphitheatre is close by. The 6km track around the rock with its dense trees and shrubs hide many interesting species of flora. The east side is renowned for its masses of Donkey Orchids at the base to the rock. Read More

Westonia Shire secures Lotterywest Grant towards the development of the Westonia Community Hub and expansion of the Historical Museum.

Shire of Westonia is thrilled to announce it has been awarded a grant of $363,248 from Lotterywest. This significant funding injection will enable the development of the Westonia Community Hub and expansion of the Historical Museum to support community connection, participation and the preservation of cultural heritage.
By creating a community hub and new museum space we will ensure a vibrant community that actively pursues a variety of interests, that enjoys strong and positive connections to others, and that benefits from strong links to cultural heritage and from volunteering opportunities associated with sharing local heritage with visitors.
